Crypto traders have been misled by Fortnite’s latest unveiling of the superpowered dog, Krypto. The search term “crypto treat fortnite” saw a recent breakout on Google trends, with people looking for a Fortnite token that does not exist. According to Google Trends for cryptocurrency, many users have been misspelling Krypto treat Fortnite as “crypto treat Fortnite” when googling the game’s newest dog-themed power-up. Other search terms that pop up due to the spelling error include “Epic Games token” and “what does the crypto treat do in Fortnite?” Despite the spike in curiosity from traders, the “crypto treat Fortnite” is not a new token issued by the third-person shooter survival video game developed by Epic Games. In fact, the treat holds zero monetary value and cannot be exchanged for fiat-currency or digital assets. Spelled correctly with a K instead of a C, Krypto Treat is a new item introduced in the game’s Chapter 6 Season 3 linked to Superman’s superpowered pooch, Krypto. The dog is a superpowered companion that can assist players in quests and combats. Krypto treats are introduced in the game as a new Mythic Hero Item that lets players summon Krypto, Superman’s cosmic canine companion. Galaxy Digital reported a net loss of $295 million for the first quarter of 2025. The losses were cited due to digital asset depreciation and a $57 million charge related to winding down Helios’s data center mining operations. The company also confirmed that its reorganization and domestication to the United States was completed on May 13, ahead of a planned Nasdaq listing on May 16. The first-quarter loss equates to $0.86 per diluted share. Coinbase Asset Management is launching a new Bitcoin investment product targeting institutional investors. According to the company’s  Apr. 28 official announcement, the Coinbase Bitcoin Yield Fund is designed to offer long-term exposure to Bitcoin (BTC) while providing a 4–8% net annual returns in BTC. The fund uses a conservative strategy focused on lowering both investment and operational risks, two major concerns for institutions entering the crypto space. Unlike traditional assets or staked tokens like Ethereum (ETH) or Solana (SOL), Bitcoin does not naturally generate yield. Most Bitcoin yield products require investors to take on higher risks, such as lending Bitcoin or selling options. However, Coinbase said CBYF will avoid these riskier methods. Instead, it will use third-party custody integrations for trading, helping to minimize counterparty exposure. The fund will officially launch on May 1, 2025, and is currently available only for non-U.S. investors. Subscriptions and redemptions will occur monthly, with a five-day notice period. The strategy has an estimated $1 billion capacity, and qualified custodians will handle asset storage. During early Asian trading hours on Thursday, May 22, Bitcoin surged more than 4% from its peak of $109,800 on Wednesday to reach a new all-time high of $111,544.  The milestone follows a brief dip to $106,000 and shows growing investor appetite for alternative assets amid rising macroeconomic uncertainty. The immediate catalyst appears to be the weak demand in the U.S. Treasury’s $16 billion 20-year bond auction on May 21.  Investors pushed for lower prices, which in turn drove bond yields above 5.1%. In bond markets, yields and prices move inversely, meaning that when demand falls, prices drop and yields rise. Bonds are usually more appealing when yields are higher, but when yields rise too quickly because of poor demand, it may be an indication that people are losing faith in government debt.  The ripple effect extended across other maturities, with the 10-year and 30-year U.S. Treasury yields climbing to 4.58% and 5.08%, respectively. Bitcoin exchange-traded funds have attracted more than $4.24 billion in inflows over the past month, as per SoSoValue data.
