Texas Representative Lance Gooden has formally asked the General Services Administration to consider installing cryptocurrency ATMs in federal buildings across the United States.  Gooden cited the need to modernize public infrastructure and support a growing segment of Americans engaging with digital assets. In a May 1 letter to Acting GSA Administrator Stephen Ehikian, Gooden urged the agency to begin evaluating the feasibility of the initiative, emphasizing that such a move would “signal to the public that the government is embracing innovation in a secure and responsible manner.” The proposal aligns with former President Donald Trump’s campaign focus on advancing U.S. leadership in cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.  “Expanding accessibility to crypto ATMs within federal buildings aligns with President Trump’s vision of positioning the United States as a global leader in cryptocurrency,” Gooden wrote. Gooden’s proposal calls for robust identity verification, transparent fee structures, and adherence to anti-money laundering regulations.  He also stressed the importance of collaboration between regulators, private sector technology providers, and compliance experts to ensure any implementation prioritizes consumer protection and trust. Law enforcement agencies have flagged these kiosks as potential vectors for fraud, including scams targeting vulnerable users.  Gooden’s letter does not ignore these concerns, instead urging the GSA to establish clear operational guidelines to mitigate such risks. LAUNCHCOIN, a token associated with the SocialFi platform Believe, rallied as high as 500% today amid ecosystem growth. Formerly known as PASTERNAK, named after Believe founder Ben Pasternak, Launch Coin on Believe (LAUNCHCOIN) hit an all-time high of $0.093 on May 13 during the afternoon Asian trading hours. Its market cap climbed past $81 million as of writing. Fueling the surge was a sharp spike in trading activity. CoinGecko data shows that daily volume soared over 500% compared to the previous day.. Crypto exchange KuCoin has announced the official launch of its fully licensed Thailand platform as a part of its global expansion. According to an April 23 announcement, the new platform will operate under ERX Company Limited, which recently received a crypto exchange licence from Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission.  As part of the collaboration, ERX has rebranded as KuCoin Thailand, allowing KuCoin to offer regulated access to digital assets and trading services in the country. Commenting on the development, ERX CEO Att Tongyai Asavanund said KuCoin’s “global infrastructure and resources” would allow the company “to deliver localized solutions tailored for the Thai market.” Existing ERX users have been migrated to the updated platform, which promises a mix of KuCoin’s global trading experience and localised support.  New and existing users would also be able to access the platform via the KuCoin TH app, which is available on both Android and iOS. “Our goal is to build a leading digital asset platform in Thailand with global vision, institutional-grade service and state-of-the-art technology,” said Henry Chen, Board Director at ERX. The Thailand launch also comes as KuCoin deals with some headwinds in South Korea. JPMorgan Chase has taken a step toward integrating with a public blockchain transaction using Ondo Finance and Chainlink.  On Wednesday, the bank announced that it had settled a transaction on a public blockchain for the first time, using technology from Chainlink (LINK) and Ondo Finance (ONDO), according to Fortune reporting. The transaction, conducted in early May, involved JPMorgan’s blockchain division, Kinexys, moving funds between accounts on its private network to settle a purchase of tokenized U.S. Treasuries on Ondo’s public platform.  According to Ondo Finance, the transaction was the first cross-chain, atomic Delivery versus Payment settlement of a tokenized asset on the Ondo Chain testnet. The transaction connected Kinexys’ permissioned bank settlement infrastructure with the public Layer 1 Ondo Chain via Chainlink’s cross-chain technology.
